The International Council on Archives (ICA) is offering two bursaries to support attendance at ICA Barcelona 2025, taking place from 27–30 October 2025 in Barcelona, Spain.

Bursaries for Francophone Participants
With support from the French Ministry of Culture, ICA invites applications from individuals working in archives or information services in francophone developing countries or territories. Applicants must be ICA individual members or staff of institutional members in good standing.
What’s covered:
- Congress registration
- Airfare
- 4 nights’ accommodation
- Visa reimbursement (up to 100 EUR)
- Allowance (150 EUR)
Eligibility:
- Work in French in a francophone developing country or territory
- Work in archives or information services
- Commit to sharing knowledge after the Congress

Bursaries for SIDS, LDCs, Developing Economies, and FCS
In collaboration with UNESCO, ICA is offering bursaries for applicants from:
- Small Island Developing States (SIDS)
- Least Developed Countries (LDCs)
- Developing Economies (excluding high-income)
- Fragile and Conflict-affected Situations (FCS)
What’s covered:
- Congress registration
- Airfare
- 5 nights’ accommodation
- Visa reimbursement (up to 100 EUR)
- Allowance (150 EUR)
Additional requirements:
- Attend a UNESCO–Memory of the World workshop
- Submit a short post-Congress report
Eligibility:
- Work in a documentary heritage-related initiative in an eligible country
- No ICA membership required
- Commitment to share knowledge after the Congress
