The READY programme (Resilience for Heritage in the Face of Disasters, Climate Risks and Complex Emergencies), led by the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), with support from the European Union under the Creative Europe Programme, is convening its first online inter-agency coordination meeting for READY Track 1 from 18–20 May 2026, titled “Safeguarding heritage collections, living traditions and practices in the context of disasters, extreme weather events and complex emergencies”.
This event will bring together practitioners, partners and stakeholders to share experiences, reflect on implementation, and discuss key lessons learned.

About the coordination meeting
The 3-day online meeting will provide a space to share practice, discuss challenges and strengthen collaboration across sectors.
It will focus on:
- disaster risk reduction, preparedness, response and recovery
- integration of heritage into climate and risk policies
- cross-sector cooperation between heritage, civil protection and other services
- identifying readiness indicators for complex emergencies
Sessions will include case studies, panels and expert discussions.
