There is still time to contribute your views to the New Professionals 2025 Survey, part of the International Council on Archives (ICA) New Professionals Programme.
This initiative is focused on the theme of rethinking archival practices and aims to gather insights from those currently working in the archival field.
About the Survey
The survey is open to archivists who are currently employed, volunteering or studying, whether within an archival service or on a specific archival project. It is designed to capture individual perspectives, rather than institutional positions. The survey is available in the following languages: English, French, Spanish, Catalan, Arabic, and Hindi.
This research seeks to explore:
- How archivists today interpret and engage with the idea of “rethinking archival practices”
- What values, challenges, and priorities inform their work
- The tools and approaches currently in use
- The barriers they encounter in practice
KEY INFORMATION
- Deadline: Wednesday, 23 July 2025, 23:59 CET (Paris time)
Why Participate?
Your input will help build a more comprehensive picture of evolving archival practices across the profession. The data gathered, both quantitative and qualitative, will form part of a broader research effort led by the 2025 ICA New Professionals cohort.
Findings will be presented at the ICA Congress 2025 in Barcelona, with a written report to be published later in the year.
All responses will remain anonymous. At the end of the survey, there is an option to volunteer for a follow-up conversation with the ICA New Professionals team.
