We are delighted to extend our warmest invitation to the Forum of National Archivists (FAN) Quarterly Virtual Colloquium on Archival Matters for the year 2024. This series of virtual gatherings aims to foster insightful discussions and collaborative efforts in addressing the contemporary challenges faced by national archives globally.
The third session will take place on Thursday, 5 September 2024 with a focus on the theme “Shared Archival Heritage, Politics, and the Way Forward.” The colloquium will feature distinguished speakers, including Njörður Sigurðsson, Chair of the ICA Expert Group on Shared Archival Heritage (EGSAH), who will discuss recent activities of the Expert Group, and Dr. Forget Chaterera Zambuko, who will address the complexities of shared archival heritage in the global South. Additionally, Dr. Kirsten Thorpe will present on the successes and challenges since the proclamation of the Tandaya-Adelaide Declaration in 2019. Jessica Squires, former Director of Indigenous Initiatives at Library and Archives Canada (LAC) will moderate the session.
