The ICA Climate Change Working Group (CCWG) invites you to an open virtual meeting on 14 March 2025. This session will introduce the group, outline the rationale behind its creation, present the four key focus areas of its proposed work, and engage participants in a discussion on the next steps.

Building on the public forum on climate change held during the ICA Congress in Abu Dhabi in 2023, 2025 marks the official launch of the Climate Change Working Group (CCWG). The group serves as a collaborative space for the archival community to reflect, exchange ideas, identify knowledge gaps, and develop collective responses to the challenges climate change poses for archives and archival professionals.

This virtual session will be introduced by Meg Phillips, ICA VP Programme, and Trudy Peterson, VP ICA/SAHR

It will be moderated by the ICA/CCWG co-chairs :

  • Eric Chin, General Counsel and Chief Sustainability Officer, National Archives, National and Public Libraries, Singapore;
  • Cécile Fabris, Head of Collections for the Cultural, Social and Educational Sector, National Archives, France;
  • Claudio Ogass Bilbao, Activist archivist & PhD student on Archive Studies (University of Liverpool);
  • Juergen Vervoorst, Head of Collection Care, The National Archives, UK.
