We are delighted to announce that registration is now open for our annual conference to be held in Glasgow in October 2024.
Conference Theme
The theme of the conference is ‘What Does Diversity Mean to You?’ – topics include:
- Embedding diversity in all we do
- Revisiting description and opening up archives
- Diversifying collections and acknowledging silences
- Indigenous archives and heritage
- Institutional history and decolonisation
- Diverse archives in South Asia
- Increasing accessibility and reaching diverse users
- Revisiting context and provenance
With speakers from 13 different countries this promises to be a fascinating event. The conference builds on ICA-SUV’s diversity project, a series of online discussions culminating in our diversity manual.
Conference Location
Hosted by the University of Strathclyde in central Glasgow, Scotland, the conference will take place from 7 to 9 October 2024. We will meet in the Executive Suite of the University’s Technology and Innovation Centre. The centre of Glasgow is an easy 15-minute bus journey from the airport
Social Programme, Accommodation and Further information
The conference fee includes a civic reception at Glasgow City Chambers and visits to local archives on the afternoon of 9 October. Visits to local attractions on Sunday, 6 October and the conference dinner will be at additional cost. Further details to be supplied later. Please note that registration is via the University of Dundee website, but the conference is at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.
