The ICA Section on Sports Archives (SPO) invites you to the latest session in the #SPOontheSpot series, a collection of online discussions exploring the intersection of archives and sports. This final session, scheduled for 27 November, will focus on preserving and promoting sports-related archives, particularly within the ALA region (Association of Latin American Archivists).

The session will begin with an introduction to ICA/SPO, followed by a roundtable discussion where key questions will be asked to panelists on topics such as identifying sports archives, implementing best practices, and overcoming challenges in preserving these records. Additionally, the panel will discuss current barriers to raising awareness about the importance of sports archives within clubs, federations, and universities, as well as explore possible awareness strategies on sports-related topics such as human rights, health, and psychology. The session will conclude with a Q&A round and a space for sharing professional anecdotes in this field.

The session will be moderated by the Section’s Chair, Fina Solà. More information on the invited speakers can be found below. We look forward to your participation!
