Join the ICA Section on Archives of Literature and Art for its second talk in a new series of speaking events prepared for the last quarter of the year. This project is supported by the International Council on Archives (ICA) through the Programme Commission.    Event Description:

ICA has announced that its 2025 Congress will be held in Barcelona. We now have three live meetings to look forward to: in Rome (September 2022, conference); in Abu Dhabi (October 2023, congress); and in Barcelona (October 2025, also a congress). Text in Catalan follows.

Email is one of the critical forms of documentation of life in the digital age, and the preservation of email is central to the mission and values of archives and archivists.

At its recent meeting, the ICA Executive Board agreed a further postponement of the Abu Dhabi 2020 Congress (already postponed to October 2021). Having reviewed reports on the continuing health, quarantine and travel problems caused by the pandemic, the Executive Board agreed reluctantly that a further postponement was unavoidable. As arrangements for the Conference in Rome in 2022 are already advanced, this has meant a postponement of the Abu Dhabi Congress to 2023.
