The theme #ArchivesAreAccessible highlights the need for archives accessible to everyone, regardless of background, ability, or digital access.
Kick off the week with Lightning Talks on 9 and 10 June, featuring two sessions each day—one in the morning and one in the afternoon. These talks led by ICA members will highlight the four key subthemes of this year’s edition, giving you a quick, powerful overview of the challenges and innovations shaping archives today.

Hosted by the ICA New Professionals, this 90-minute online workshop will explore innovative archival strategies through presentations, small group discussions, and Q&A. Attendance is limited to 50 participants, and registration is required. The workshop is in English and will focus on making archives more accessible by rethinking traditional practices.

This webinar will explore how copyright affects archival access and preservation. Leading experts will discuss copyright’s impact on daily archival work, national and international legislation, and strategies to balance copyright with access. The session will also introduce a new online course, “Introduction to Copyright for Archivists,” designed to support archival professionals in navigating copyright challenges.

The session presents three case studies that explore how archives can act as key tools for inclusion, the recognition of diverse memories and the construction of historical justice.

This online event will present CORAA, a collaborative, open-source map that connects archival institutions across Africa to improve visibility and networking. Hosted by the ICA Africa Programme and led by Prof. Dr. Basma Makhlouf Shabou, the session includes presentations, a Q&A, and details on next steps. The webinar is in French with English interpretation.
