We are thrilled to announce the launch of the official website for the International Archives Congress – ICA Barcelona 2025, which will take place from 27-30 October 2025 in Barcelona. The event, themed “Knowing Pasts, Creating Futures”, is expected to bring together archivists, records managers, and professionals from related fields from around the world to explore the future of our profession.

One of the key features available on the website is the Call for Papers, which is now open for submissions. This is a unique opportunity for professionals to contribute to the global discussion on archives and records management by sharing their knowledge, experience and innovative ideas. The call is available in English, French, Catalan and Spanish.
Subthemes
The Congress programme is structured around five interconnected subthemes that reflect the current challenges and opportunities in the archival field:

We invite participants to submit proposals for various types of sessions, including:

The submission deadline for proposals is 16 January 2025, and successful applicants will be notified by the end of April 2025.
