The ICA website is currently under development. The first phase of the project aims to deliver open source, sustainable tools which improve the online governance of our organization. The second phase is to be launched next year. This phase will enhance the navigation experience of our website users, and deliver more advanced tools allowing a better promotion of the International Council on Archives actions, along with its Branches and Sections.

 The Arab Image Foundation (AIF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the collection, preservation and study of photography from the MENA region. The AIF holds a unique collection of more than 600,000 photographs from the mid-nineteenth century to 1970. Through this project, the AIF proposes to prepare a disaster plan for its own collection, with the idea of sharing the experience and methodology with its national and regional network of photo collections.  

         

This is a ‘train the trainers’ project on preventive methods for the preservation and conservation of records of State Central Departments and Government Agencies. 

The Elected Officers and Secretariat of ICA wish to announce that the process for the selection of the International Congress Host in 2020 will start soon, in late November or early December 2015.  The selection criteria and guidelines are currently being revised, but will largely be based on the existing documentation relating to the Annual Conferences. 

Tuesday October 27th, World Day for Audiovisual Archives, the 8 presidents from the AACCC associations collectively sign the "New Declaration"   SAFEGUARDING ENDANGERED ARCHIVES: A SHARED VISION - A NEW DECLARATION

ICA’s Programme Commission’s (PCOM) meeting in Reykjavik addressed the budget proposal for 2016, preliminary project proposals for funding and overall assessment of the PCOM projects.   The participants discussed the terms of reference and the need for potential members of the new expert group on legal matters in archives and records management with the immediate remit of working on comparative national archival legislation.

Christine Trembleau joined the ICA Paris office team as Marketing and Communication Manager on 10 September. She brings strong skills in Marketing and Business Development thanks to her experience both in companies and agencies.
