Access: ethical, legal and technical issues The EASTICA members met in Seoul (South Korea) on 31st May 2010 and had a seminar on access chaired by Mr Masaya Takayama, president of the National Archives of Japan and chairman of EASTICA.

Back from Haïti, Christophe Jacobs, responsible for the ICA Emergency Management Programme, met on 3 May 2010, in the ICA Secretariat in Paris, Ms. Danièle Neirinck, President of AsF-France, and Gérard Ermisse, responsible for the Haïti project at the Service Interministériel des Archives de France.

2010 SUV Conference Archival Traditions and Practice. Are Archivists Historians? Prague, Czech Republic, 29 September-3 October 2010 The 2010 ICA/SUV Conference Archival Traditions and Practice - Are Archivists Historians? will be hosted by Institute for the History of Charles University and Archive of Charles University and the Masaryk Institute and Archive of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The Call for Papers has just been issued with a deadline for proposals of 30 April 2010.

Roumiana Nedialkova works for the Archives State Agency of Bulgaria in particular in the field of International co-operation.

Research documentation, the ability to manage and access scientific records and data in the short and long term, is an imperative for good quality in research and scientific practice. Research documentation is also an important part of the scientific and cultural heritage. A workshop on this issue will take place in Uppsala, Sweden, on March 18-19 2010.

On the 9th of December, Ryoichi Ishii from the Nomura Research Institute, and Toru Tokikawa, consultant, visited ICA Secretariat.

Architectural Archives Directory SAR has decided to continue with the survey on Architectural Archives.
