New Professionals Cohort 2025

We are thrilled to announce the selected participants for the International Council on Archives (ICA) New Professionals Programme 2025! This year’s cohort features a dynamic group of 10 emerging leaders in the archival and recordkeeping profession from across the globe. These individuals will attend and present at the ICA Congress in Barcelona 2025, participate in a global group project, and receive mentorship and professional guidance throughout the year. Each participant brings a unique background, perspective, and expertise to the programme, exemplifying the diversity and vibrancy of our professional community. 

Meet the 2025 New Professionals 

Adrià Font
Adrià Font Guim, Spain

Adrià works as a Technical Research Staff Member at the Universitat de Lleida Archive in Catalonia. He contributes to interdisciplinary research by integrating advanced technologies with archival and digital management. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Archival Studies and Information Governance, Adrià is passionate about leveraging technology to make information more accessible and sustainable.

Arvid de Raaij
Arvid de Raaij, Netherlands

Arvid is a Digital Collections Specialist at the NIOD Institute for War-, Holocaust– and Genocide Studies. His work focuses on digitizing archival materials and applying natural language processing for enhanced accessibility. Arvid emphasizes the critical role of archival theory in preserving provenance within digital environments. 

Clara Gimenez Delgado
Clara Giménez Delgado, Switzerland/Spain

Clara is a fellow at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Records and Archives Section in Geneva. With a strong academic background in history and archival studies, her work focuses on decolonizing heritage practices and simplifying reference services to democratize access to cultural materials. 

Faythe Lou
Faythe Lou, Canada

Faythe serves as the Records & Information Management Analyst for the City of Richmond, British Columbia. She is involved in records lifecycle management and is currently leading a migration project to a new electronic records system. Faythe advocates for diversity in cultural heritage spaces and mentors emerging professionals. 

Herbert Duran
Herbert Duran, USA

Herbert is an Archivist at the Center for Puerto Rican Studies, handling all aspects of archival processes. His work emphasizes community empowerment and representation through archival practices. Herbert also serves as the Education Director for the Archivists Roundtable of New York. 

Huni Mancini
Huni Mancini, Aotearoa New Zealand

Huni is an Archivist at the Archive of Māori and Pacific Sound. Her work focuses on preserving Indigenous oral histories and navigating the complexities of audiovisual materials. Her Tongan heritage informs her practice, particularly in addressing archival dissociation. 

Manuel Antonio Rifrio Javier
Manuel Antonio Riofrio Javier, Peru

Manuel leads the archival services area at the Central Archive of the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Peru. His work focuses on improving documentary preservation through innovative technologies and promoting access to permanent-value documents. 

Sandy Wang
Sandy Wang, Singapore

Sandy is an archivist at the National Archives of Singapore, where she works on declassification and archival accessibility. Her contributions include developing workflows, training new archivists, and exploring the implementation of Records-in-Context. Sandy’s interests span archival laws, large-scale archival management, and professional development. 

Sayan Sanyal
Sayan Sanyal, India

Sayan serves as Assistant Curator at the Public Arts Trust of India, blending history, culture, and technology in his work. He has contributed to digital transformation projects in museum spaces and is passionate about immersive storytelling in cultural heritage.

Yasmin Tarek Ismail
Yasmin T. Ismail, Egypt

Yasmin is a researcher, archivist, and programme manager at Shubra’s Archive. Her work focuses on participatory archival practices and addressing gendered archival collections. Yasmin’s projects include creating multimedia collections and exploring decolonized knowledge production.

The ICA New Professionals Programme is designed to nurture the next generation of leaders in the archival field. Over the coming year, this talented group will collaborate on a group project, engage with mentors and peers, and contribute to the global archival discourse at the ICA Congress 2025 in Barcelona.
