☑️ Are ICA online courses available to anyone? 

Yes. Online courses are available to ICA members and non-members. ICA members enjoy a preferential rate, either as individual members (category D) or as staff registered through a member institution (categories A, B and C). Category A members can register up to 20 learners and Category B and C members can register up to 10. Further details can be found in the membership benefits grid. 

ICA also offers a freely accessible course to everyone: “Understanding and Using the Universal Declaration on Archives. To access it, simply visit the course page and register using your ICA membership details or by creating a Guest learner account. 

 

☑️ Can I get a certificate after completing an online course?

Yes. A personal certificate is issued when the learner completes a course, provided that all evaluations are passed with a success rate of at least 60%. The certificate is generated automatically once this condition is satisfied and can be downloaded as a PDF in the learner’s account on the ICA Online Learning Platform.   

 

☑️ How can I purchase an online course?

To purchase a course, simply visit our catalogue and select the course you wish to start. You will be redirected to the course page, where you will find all the information you need (course description, objectives, duration, and cost, among other details). Just choose your learner profile (ICA member, ICA institutional member, or Guest Learner), and you will be guided to complete the purchase process in a few steps.

 

☑️ I am an institutional ICA member category A, B or C. How can I register staff members in ICA’s online courses?

Browse our catalogue and choose the course you’d like to register your staff for. Click on the “ICA Institutional Members” button on the right panel, and you’ll be redirected to a brief form. You will soon receive an email with a dedicated link to register your staff at the preferential rate.   

 

☑️ I am an institutional ICA member category A, B or C. How many learners can I register for a course?

☑️ What payment methods can I use to buy online courses?

Courses can be paid online using a credit card or bank transfer. To pay by bank transfer, simply download your invoice, which will be available for download in the final step of the purchase process.  

 

☑️ For how long can I access my online course?

All courses are available for a three-month period from the date of purchase. The only exception is the “Managing Digital Archives” course, which is available for four months.  

 

☑️ Will ICA offer new online courses in the future?

Yes. ICA continuously works to develop online courses to meet the training needs of the archival and records management community. We invite you to follow ICA communication channels to be the first to learn when we launch a new online course or other training opportunities.   

 

☑️ I have trouble accessing my online course. What can I do?

Please contact us at training@ica.org and inform us about the issue you are experiencing. We will respond to your request as soon as possible.

ICA endeavours to deliver in-person training annually, either by organising a training event or by collaborating with other institutions that offer training opportunities relevant to the archival community. ICA offers a preferential rate for ICA members on all online courses. For in-person training events, ICA typically provides a number of bursaries to support community participation where the training is particularly relevant.
