Candidate Statement:

“Dear Colleagues, I invite you to review my CV, which outlines my professional journey spanning 23 years in the archival field. My goal is to foster stronger collaboration within our international archival community while also establishing a solid foundation for greater engagement between the archival institutions of Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and the global archival network. After establishing close cooperation with the ICA in 2022, the Archive of the President, actively supported by the ICA, has successfully organized two major international congresses of archivists. Looking ahead, I warmly invite our international colleagues to join us in Astana for the third congress, scheduled for 2026. My team and I are eager to apply our accumulated experience on a broader scale. Maybe in future Astana might have the opportunity to host an ICA Congress or Conference as well. While this remains a long-term aspiration, I am committed to strengthening our role in the international archival community and contributing to its growth by becoming part of PCOM.”

Answer to the “How can you make the voice of ICA regions underrepresented in PCOM heard?” question

“Open and transparent communication is key to strengthening cooperation in the archival field. Since becoming an ICA member institution, we have expanded our outreach projects from working mostly with colleagues in Kazakhstan to including foreign partners as well. If we can make colleagues from underrepresented regions see benefits of such partnership by facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise essential for addressing emerging challenges, by organizing joint events and inviting specialists from different areas of the world to a dialogue within our own archival institutions, we can then summarize and share the results of the discussion with the ICA. Additionally, I am keen to enhance Central Asia’s role within the ICA, fostering stronger connections with other partners.”
