The ICA Programme Commission (PCOM) is inviting nominations for three (3) Member-at-Large seats for the 2027-2030 term. Members-at-large are elected by the ICA membership.
If you are an ICA member (categories A, B, C, or D) in good standing and would like to help guide ICA’s overall professional programme, we encourage you to consider nominating yourself for election to the Programme Commission.
What is PCOM?
The ICA Programme Commission (PCOM) is the governance body responsible for ICA’s professional programme. PCOM brings together a diverse group of committed, energetic, and knowledgeable archivists and records professionals to oversee ICA Conferences and Congresses, Expert Groups, funding for professional projects, and strategic initiatives such as the New Professionals, Training, and Regional Development Programmes.
PCOM aims to ensure representation from all ICA regions. As part of the nomination process, candidates will be asked to indicate how they can help ensure that the voices of ICA regions underrepresented within PCOM are heard.
For the 2027–2030 mandate, the ICA regions currently underrepresented in PCOM are:
- Asia and Oceania
- Latin America and the Caribbean
Nominations from these regions are particularly encouraged.

Nomination
To nominate yourself for one of the open seats, please complete the PCOM nomination form. The form consists of sixteen (16) questions.
Important: For members-at-Large, the details provided in the “Information for the ballot” section of the nomination form will be shared with ICA members as part of the election process.
Please ensure your submission includes:
- A candidate statement (maximum 200 words)
- A curriculum vitae (maximum two pages)
Note: A letter of support is not required. However, if submitted, it must be an official letter from an ICA group. Any letter received will be included in the candidate’s information on the ballot, together with the candidate statement.
Schedule
Nominations are open from 2 March to 12 April at 23:59 CET (Paris time).
ICA-wide elections, overseen by the PCOM Election Committee (ICA Internal Regulations, Programme Commission Procedures, art. 3–6, pp. 16–19), will take place in April–May.
Successful candidates will begin their terms at the beginning of 2027.
PCOM operates with a very limited budget, and travel support is not routinely provided for PCOM meetings. However, if an excellent candidate from a low-resourced region would otherwise be unable to participate, limited travel funds may be available to assist.
