Candidate Statement:    

“I have been a member of the ICA for several years now. I am currently the President of ESARBICA. During my tenure, i ensured that the Constitution undergoes a review. This will be concluded at the AGM of ESARBICA in 2025. Moreover, the Strategic plan for esarbica is currently under review so that it is in line with that of the ICA. As the National Archivist of South Africa, i serve on the FAN and as President of ESARBICA, represent the region on the ICA EXCO. With the number of experience in my work at the National Archives and Library chief directorate, i am suited to be a member of PCOM or any ICA Committee. I have vast experience in governance and management of institutions. Moreover, i pride myself as a champion of the digitization of both paper and AV collections in South Africa.”

How can you make the voice of ICA regions underrepresented in PCOM heard?

“Africa and the Arab region is underrepresented in the ICA family and it will be my prerogative to ensure that we have more representation in the ICA family. This will be done by encouraging participation by the region and also taking roadshows to the region whereby members are encouraged to participate in the ICA. Beneficial serves will be marketed to the region and that will entice members to participate in numbers.”
