Candidate Statement:

“I am constantly looking for ways to boost engagement and collaboration in the workplace. While working in various archives, I have been responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing projects for the improvement of archival access and outreach. I also strive to be active in the professional community, and as such have participated in conferences and congresses, both as an attendee and as event support. These efforts have given me a thorough understanding of what is needed to initiate successful projects and events. Furthermore, I am passionate about making archives accessible and representative of the communities they serve. I have engaged in a range of activities related to these interests, from reparative metadata projects to project review panels. If elected to the Projects Commission, I will bring all this experience to bear to help improve access, representation, and support for archives and archivists. “

Answer to the “How can you make the voice of ICA regions underrepresented in PCOM heard?” question

“While I myself am not from an underrepresented region, I have experience working with underrepresented groups and using my position to amplify their voices. Having worked in a variety of institutions and groups of people, I bring an awareness of my own privilege and how that impacts others. In my case, ensuring diverse representation is a matter of active listening, professional empathy, and an attitude of problem solving. “
