We are excited to announce that the International Council on Archives has officially joined the global DTI: Digitise. Transform. Inspire. initiative, aimed at transforming the future of archives through digital innovation. This partnership marks a significant step towards accelerating digitisation, improving cross-border access, and fostering international cooperation within the archival sector.
The DTI initiative brings together forward-thinking organisations from across the archival, technological, and cultural sectors to create a world where archival knowledge is fully digitised, openly accessible, and dynamically used to inform, connect, and inspire societies globally.
As a global voice of the archival community, the ICA will be contributing by acting as a strategic advisor, bridging regions and communities, and co-branding events and initiatives that align with our mission in digital preservation, access, and advocacy.
ICA at the DTI Conference: Shaping the Archives of Tomorrow
In September 2025, the ICA will be represented at the Digitise. Transform. Inspire. conference in Vienna by ICA’s President, Josée Kirps, who will deliver an inspiring introduction to the DTI initiative. The event, held on 1-2 September 2025 at the Hotel Imperial Riding School in Vienna, brings together key players in the archival and technology sectors, offering a platform to discuss the transformative power of digitisation, AI, and collaboration.
The conference will showcase innovative solutions and best practices, focusing on three pillars: Digitise, Transform, and Inspire. Notably, ICA’s participation highlights the crucial role of international collaboration and the integration of digital tools in enhancing archival practices.
