Luisa Franco has joined in September 2018 swisspeace's Dealing with the Past Program.
With an academic background in preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, she holds an MSc in Digital Communications for Cultural Heritage from the Lugano University in Switzerland and a specialization in Human Rights and Archives from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
Luisa worked for many years in the area of ICT4D focusing on information management, both in Colombia and as a fellow at the International Institute for Software Technology at United Nations University in China. In 2014, she joined the Directorate of the Human Rights Archive at the National Centre for Historical Memory in Colombia. There, together with community leaders and social and victims’ organizations representing ethnic groups in Colombia, she carried out a series of projects to recover documentation and testimonies documenting human rights violations.
