We are 2 weeks from the first ICA Training Programme Webinar of the year, have you registered yet? On this occasion, Jonathan Rhys-Lewis, Fellow of ICA and former Chair of the Expert Group on Archival Buildings and Environments, will introduce the Ten Agents of Deterioration, created by the Canadian Conservation Institute. Understanding these agents provides a useful framework for identifying and managing the factors that threaten the preservation of archive materials:
physical forces,
thieves and vandals,
fire,
water,
pests,
pollutants,
light and radiation,
incorrect temperature,
relative humidity, and
dissociation.
