In April, members of the Programme Commission and the Executive Board met in Bali, Indonesia for the annual Spring governance meetings. I am very grateful to our host Mr Mustari Irawan, Director-General of the National Archives of Indonesia (Arsip Nasional Republik Indonesia) and his very professional team for their hospitality and professionalism in organising a very successful schedule of events.

As well as a busy schedule of business meetings that included Regional Branch Presidents, Chairs of Sections, Elected Officers, 2016 Congress Committee and PCOM’s Africa Strategy Taskforce, our colleagues in ANRI organised an international seminar that attracted a large number of archivists and records managers from across Indonesia. The Seminar programme included presentations from the President of FAN Mr Eric Chin and the Chair of the Section on Archival Education and Training Geir Magnus Walderhaug as well as the Mayor of Denpasar City I.B. Rai Dharmawijaya Mantra, the Deputy Director-General of ANRI Dr M. Taufik and Dr I Putu Suhartika from Udayana University.
Our colleagues in Indonesia also treated us to insights into Indonesian culture through Balinese dance performances and a visit to the Monumen Bajra Sandhi and Museum Bali.
