The World Day for Audiovisual Heritage is a key initiative to honour audiovisual preservation professionals and institutions that safeguard our heritage for future generations.
In 2005, the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) declared 27 October as the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage (WDAVH) during the 33rd session of the UNESCO General Conference held in Paris, France.
As part of this year’s celebration, we are excited to be organizing two webinars!
#WDAVH2023 Webinars
The first webinar, taking place on Thursday 26 October at 18:00 CET and held in collaboration with ICA’s Photographic and Audiovisual Archives Working Group (PAAG), is titled “Fight the Power(s): Audiovisual Archiving for Social Justice”.
It will feature Maria Mingo (Mnemonic), Yvonne Ng (WITNESS) and Bono Olgado (HURIDOCS), and be moderated by Juan Alonso Fernández and Vicenç Ruiz Gómez, members of PAAG.
