
Nicola Laurent (she/her) is the Senior Project Archivist on the Find & Connect web resource team at the University of Melbourne, and the International Council on Archives’ (ICA) New Professionals Programme Coordinator. Nicola is a PhD candidate in the School of Social Work at the University of Melbourne undertaking research about people’s experiences of trauma in archives. Nicola advocates for trauma-informed archival practice and discusses the impact of vicarious trauma on archivists. She is co-founder of the Trauma-Informed Archives Community of Practice and was a 2016 ICA New Professional.

Laura is an Archivist turned researcher, currently studying towards a PhD in the History of Science and Technology at University College London (UCL), in partnership with The National Archives, UK. She also supports teaching on the UCL Masters course in Archives and Records Management at UCL.
Laura was part of the New Professionals Programme in 2019-2020, attending the Adelaide, Australia conference. She has remained involved in the ICA since, attending conferences and virtual events. Laura has also been part of the FIDA communications team, and continues to help with this as a volunteer.
Laura is looking forward to taking a more active role within the ICA again by supporting the co-ordination of the New Professionals Programme, advocating for the importance of new voices within the profession.

Jessica Squires holds a PhD in History, with a concentration in Political Economy, from Carleton University in Canada. She is an independent scholar with several peer-reviewed publications. She manages a team of researchers and policy analysts at Library and Archives Canada. She was the ICA Programme Officer from 2017 to 2018. In addition to volunteering as FIDA Coordinator, Jessica also supports the Forum of National Archivists on a volunteer basis.

Claude Roberto, PhD, Archivist Emerita (Government of Alberta, Canada) started to volunteer for ICA in 2009 as Secretary and Editor of the Section of Professional Associations (SPA). She is an expert on the Universal Declaration on Archives (UDA) and she chairs the ICA Advocacy Expert Group. She worked on the development of the UDA, and she managed the UDA Awareness Campaign (2016-2018). She was part of the team responsible for developing the ICA course Understanding and Using the UDA. She provides French translation services to the ICA Training Programme. She wrote several advocacy resources which are available in the ICA online Resources Centre.
