We are writing to inform you that we are canceling the ICA Governance Week Meetings scheduled for 13-20 April 2020. We do not take this decision lightly as there are substantive issues that need to be discussed at the Programme Commission (PCOM) and Executive Board (EB) meetings, but given new travel restrictions announced and the importance of limiting the spread of COVID-19 we feel that this is in the best interest of the Forum of National Archivists (FAN) and governance committee members.
The FAN meeting will take place in Abu Dhabi during the ICA Congress (16 November -20 November 2020), whereas the EB and PCOM meetings will be re-scheduled and we will communicate the new meeting dates in the near future. To limit costs, the EB and PCOM meetings will be virtual however the Enlarged Elected Officers (President, Vice President (Finance), Vice President (Programmes), FAN President and Section on Professional Associations President) will be coming together in person for these meetings but for logistical reasons we cannot accommodate more members. We will schedule tests of our virtual meeting platform ahead of the meetings to ensure that everyone will be able to join.
