The Universal Photographic Digital Imaging Guidelines (UPDIG) aim to clarify issues affecting accurate reproduction and management of digital images. The project claims that the guidelines were created to establish photographic standards and practices for photographers, designers, printers, and image distributors. The guidelines cover Digital Asset Management, Color Profiling, Metadata, and Photography Workflow. The latest consulted version (4.0) should be representative of the industry consensus on Sept 22, 2008. The guidelines are divided in 4 related products: 

• Universal quick guide (UQG), compound by short and precise directives to digital image.
• A photographer guideline, which embraces the UQG, with more detailed data for the production of digital imaging.
• A receiver guideline, with more detailed data for collecting digital image, with the purpose to help the creation of submission guidelines.
• A beta version of a text generator for submission guidelines, which assists a receiver to produce standards for the technical data minimum requirements, helping the image producer/donator.
