On Tuesday 17 November, John CHAMBERS, Chief Executive of the Archives and Records Association (ARA) of the UK and Ireland, met David LEITCH, ICA Secretary General, at the Paris offices of the ICA Secretariat.  ARA is one of the largest professional associations in the archival world, with over 2,500 members, and it has been a long-standing supporter of ICA.

John and David identified several ways in which the partnership between the organizations could be renewed to mutual benefit. Both ARA and ICA are focussing strongly on advocacy, and it was agreed that increased cooperation in this key area would increase the effectiveness of both organizations.
