We have come to the end of another International Archives Week! This is our third year extending International Archives Day (June 9th) into an entire week, and we are so thankful for all those who participated in our events last week.
This year, we held a series of 12 webinars centred around our social media campaign, #EmpoweringArchives . We heard from a vast array of speakers, in multiple languages, from all over the world. Thank you to all our partners, speakers and participants!
We have enjoyed hearing your thoughts this week and hope that you will continue to share your knowledge and experiences with us. We invite you to take our IAW2021 Feedback Survey.
If you could not attend all the webinars, they will be available on the ICA Youtube channel. You can also have a look at our social media channels (Twitter and Facebook) to see videos and quotes that people shared with us as part of our #EmpoweringArchives campaign.
During International Archives Week 2021, we aimed to increase public awareness of the importance of records and archives by talking about a myriad of projects and initiatives focused on digitisation, advocacy, Artificial Intelligence, accountability and transparency, and diversity in the archival sector.
We are so thankful to all those who helped in this mission by planning their own events and activities. If you are curious about some of the events that took place all over the world, take a look at the Global Programme. Further, if you hosted an event this year, please tell us about it here.
Once again, a big thank you to our members for helping us to increase the visibility of archives and records management, and to share the importance of archives, archivists and records managers with the world. We look forward to celebrating with you again in 2022!
