Last but not least! This week meet our eighth New Professionals Programme bursary holder, Dolores Grant, from Ireland.
“I recently joined the National Archives of Ireland as an archivist in the Records, Acquisition and Description Division. My work involves providing archival and records management training, advice and assistance to government departments and agencies and assisting in the acquisition of records. I also assist in the description of records acquired by the National Archives. I have a background in digital archives, having worked as a Digital Archivist at the Digital Repository of Ireland from 2014-2016.
My academic background is in the humanities and I gained my Masters in Archives and Records Management at University College Dublin, where my thesis focused on digital preservation in Irish repositories. I enjoy contributing to developments in the Irish archives profession and am secretary of the Irish Archives Resource web portal.
I am hugely grateful to the ICA for the opportunity to attend this year’s Congress in Seoul as I see it as an invaluable opportunity to engage with other archivists in a uniquely international setting. I really look forward to sharing my experiences and learning from the other New Professionals from around the world.”
