Mr. Mike Kikuchi, former president of the National Archives of Japan, died 7 Ocotober 2017. He was member of the FIDA Board of trustees (2009-2012) and ICA Vice-President (2005-2008).   Acting on the wishes of his family, during the ALA-ICA Annual Conference 2017 in Mexico City, Mr. Hitoshi Fukui, Senior Vice President of the National Archives of Japan handed over to the chair of FIDA, Fred van Kan, a letter commemorating a gift of funds to FIDA in the name of Mr. Kikuchi.   The FIDA board is very honoured by this gesture.

The Trustees of the FIDA invite members, branches and other bodies to submit proposals for ICA/FIDA support for archival projects for 2017. Call for applications extended to 1st September 2017.

In 2015, the Board of trustees of FIDA has awarded the following projects, which have been implemented in the course of 2016 :  

The Trustees of FIDA have extended the deadline for applications to 15 June 2016. Follow this link to access FIDA application forms (for individuals or for group/institution) and support documents in English and in Spanish.    

Applications received will now be reviewed by the FIDA Trustees. We would like to thank all ICA members and supporters for submitting their proposals. The final decision will be taken at the meeting of the Board of Trustees in September 2016 at the time of the ICA Congress in Seoul.

The board of FIDA met on 26 September and welcomed Sarah Choy from Hong Kong and Sharon Alexander-Gooding of Barbados as trustees to the meeting.
