Did you know that EGAD, the ICA’s Expert Group on Archival Description, will be publishing versions 1.0 of RiC-CM and RiC-O in November 2023, thereby officially releasing both resources in their fully developed form? This has been in process for many years and to spotlight this important milestone, EGAD, in collaboration with the Archives Nationales de France, want to spotlight some of the fascinating projects that have already been developed using RiC since the release of its first draft in 2016.

It’s hard to believe that the ICA Abu Dhabi Congress 2023 was one month ago! We are thankful for the opportunity to gather with so many of you, exchanging ideas, making new connections and strengthening existing networks. Thank you for Empowering Knowledge Societies with us!

There is one week left to apply for funding through the PCOM Call for Projects 2024! This funding is provided each year by the ICA’s Programme Commission to fund archives and records management projects that support ICA’s professional progamme, strategic objectives and business plan. If you have a project that you want to develop in 2024, now is the time to apply! Be sure to complete the application form through LimeSurvey.

Národní filmový archiv shall host the seventh No Time to Wait conference at Kino NFA Ponrepo in Prague. This FREE three-day conference, taking place from November 8 to 10, 2023, is dedicated to open media, open standards, and digital audiovisual preservation and is expertly managed by MediaArea.net. In light of the ongoing challenges posed by the pandemic, this year's conference is designed to maximize online participation while still fostering the collaborative spirit of in-person events.

For 2024, we would like to ask our members what topic they would like to discuss virtually, so we invite you to click the following link to share your thoughts with us on the themes for the ICA social media campaign 2024.

In collaboration with the EUreka3D Consortium, we have been organising a series of webinars on 3D digitisation and digital transformation of cultural heritage. The second webinar in this series will take place this Friday 10 November at 15:00 CET (Paris time). 

Be sure to complete the EGATTT Survey on Archival Security 2023 before it closes on Sunday! This survey will help the ICA’s Expert Group on Theft, Trafficking, and Tampering (EGATTT) to identify the needs and priorities of the archival community vis-à-vis archival security.
